It’s been a minute! Intentionally took a little break but now I’m back. First little WIP for 2025✨

✨2024 was filled with lots of professional highs. I can’t believe I was apart of @superfineartfair in NYC, had multiple solo shows—in CT and @theapolloonemma. I was in multiple Condé Nast publications and named one of @worldoffad artists to watch. I was honored to be in local maker faires and work with @bluhenhaus_homestaging to have my pieces in their brilliant staging. To look back and reflect, it feels surreal. Thank you so much. The support and love I have received from people is just amazing. When you support a maker of any kind, you are giving them life. I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store. Happy New Year! 🎊 🍾

The painting featured in @britishgq was a painting I made on the day my grandmother passed away. It was an unconscious piece that was emotionally driven filled with texture, movement and depth.

When I returned to my hometown for my grandmother’s service, I found out that she herself was an incredibly gifted artist. At the age of 14, she was going to travel Europe to sing and study and appreciate art. She met my grandfather and in her unselfish ways, chose to stay home.

I didn’t know about her passion or gifts until this day. I saw some of her copies of sketches that were handed out to her 14 children and was amazed, and saddened, by what I saw. I wish I knew about this when she was alive. It would’ve been amazing to talk with her about it.

However, this painting, FOR CHARLOTTE, is now on a global scale for people to see. I know my grandmother would be proud to see it.

My grandmother, Charlotte, died this morning. She was a mother to 14 children. She had too many grandchildren and great grandchildren to count. She had an incredible wit, amazing spirit and an unshakable faith. She was my last living grandparent. I see her spunk in my son, who carries the most of my father’s traits. It’s impossible to find a picture of her without seeing her beam with pride. She gave us our huge family and showed how to love with devotion and conviction.
My heart breaks as I try to, again, navigate grief. This painting is a representation of my loss.
